Meet Serdar Şişman, the talented exterior designer behind Eternal Luxury's impressive yachts.

Serdar brings over 12 years of experience in yacht design. His creative and innovative designs play a significant role in shaping Eternal Luxury's unique identity in the industry.

Can you tell us a little about your background and how you became interested in yacht design?

Here's a moment that truly reflects life's twists and turns: becoming a yacht designer was never even a passing thought for me. I became acquainted with yacht design during my internship for the first time, but initially not quite attracted to it. Even if the office had wanted to hire me, I had made up my mind that yacht design was not the path for me and decided to focus on my own projects. During my university studies, I started working on various unique projects, including designing a custom watch for a Swedish company.

However, as time went on, I found myself returning to the world of yacht design through various product design and vehicle design projects with well-known companies. It seemed that designing yachts was my destiny after all! The awards and successes I achieved in the yacht design industry further motivated me, and it became the biggest source of inspiration for my creative thought process.

Today, we are actively working on yacht design projects without interruption and rapidly advancing our projects in various product design fields. This truly is an adventure filled with life's twists and turns!

What are your sources of inspiration, and how have they shaped your design philosophy over the years?

As a yacht designer, I draw inspiration from many sources. Sometimes it comes from nature, such as the graceful lines of a dolphin or the sleek shape of a sailfish. Other times it comes from the world of architecture or automotive design, where there are many interesting forms and shapes that can be adapted for yacht design.

Over the years, my design philosophy has evolved based on my experiences and observations. I believe that a good yacht design should balance form and function, aesthetics and engineering. The yacht should not only look beautiful but also be practical, safe, and seaworthy. The design should be tailored to the owner's needs and preferences, while also taking into account the latest trends and technologies in the industry.

What approaches do you assume for creating unique, luxurious styling to realize Eternal Luxury's vision?

To create unique and luxurious styling that aligns with Eternal Luxury's vision, I begin by thoroughly understanding their brand identity and the values they seek to communicate through their yachts. This involved conducting extensive research on their target market, competition conditions, and industry trends to gain insights into what appeals to their clients and what sets them apart from others.

Once I have a clear understanding of Eternal Luxury's brand identity and brand vision, I work to develop a design concept that captures the essence of their vision. This involve exploring different themes, color schemes, and materials that align with their brand identity and the image they wish to project.

Throughout the design process, I prioritize attention to detail and quality, aiming to create a yacht that is not only beautiful but also functional, comfortable, and durable. In addition to the aesthetic elements, I would also prioritize the practical considerations that are essential to a successful yacht design. This includes optimizing space utilization, incorporating the latest technologies, and ensuring the yacht is safe and seaworthy.

Ultimately, my goal is to create designs that are not only beautiful, but also functional and practical. To achieve this, I work closely with the client and the ship designer throughout the design process, incorporating their feedback and making adjustments as needed to ensure that the final product meets their needs and exceeds their expectations.

Can you walk us through the process of designing the exterior of RHODEIA 125 and the inspiration behind its elegant aesthetics?

The design process of the RHODEIA 125 began with a thorough analysis of both Eternal Luxury’s market goals and the prospective client's possible needs, preferences and intended use of the yacht. We also took into account the latest trends and technologies in the industry, as well as design constraints and regulations governing yacht design, and worked to improve them.

Our key design factor was the desire to create a stylish, modern and timeless yacht with plenty of open space for fun and relaxation. We took this input into account and developed a design concept that combined several features to meet these requirements.

One of the main inspirations behind the design of the RHODEIA 125 was the concept of fluidity and movement. In the design, we aimed to create a sense of movement and elegance that is reflected in the lines and curved surfaces of the yacht. The yacht's low profile, long and wide lines give it a sense of speed and agility, while its soft curves and rounded corners add an element of elegance and sophistication.

In terms of exteriors, the RHODEIA 125 has several recreational areas, including a large sundeck with jacuzzi and sun loungers, a covered aft deck with dining and seating areas, and a large swimming platform with easy access.

Throughout the design process, we worked closely with the ship designer to develop the design and ensure it met targeted customers’ needs and preferences. The result is a yacht that is both beautiful and functional, with elegant aesthetics that will stand the test of time.

How do you balance the need for comfort, functionality, and aesthetics?

Balancing comfort, functionality, and aesthetics is a critical part of the yacht design process. To achieve this balance, I typically start by considering the client's needs and preferences, as well as the intended use of the yacht. This involves a deep understanding of the yacht's layout, features, and amenities and how they will be used by the owner and guests.

In terms of comfort, I focus on creating spaces that are welcoming, comfortable, and inviting. This includes optimal use of volumes and areas, preserving ergonomic principles, choosing high-quality materials and finishes, such as soft fabrics, plush carpets, and comfortable furniture, to ensure that the yacht's interior and exterior spaces are relaxing and enjoyable.

We worked closely with the ship designer in collaboration to prioritize optimizing space utilization, ensuring the yacht boasts ample storage space, and incorporating cutting-edge technologies for enhanced performance, safety, and convenience. Their joint efforts involve crafting tailored solutions for specific needs, such as creating storage areas for water toys, optimizing the engine room layout, and designing custom cabinetry and furniture to achieve a harmonious and functional yacht design

Finally, in terms of aesthetics, I strive to create designs that are both beautiful and timeless. This involves selecting elegant, high-quality materials, incorporating unique design elements, and ensuring that the yacht's aesthetics are in harmony with its overall design concept. I also stay abreast of the latest trends in yacht design while remaining focused on creating designs that are classic and timeless, rather than overly trendy.

Overall, the key to balancing comfort, functionality, and aesthetics is to work closely with the ship designer and the client, listen to their needs and preferences, and incorporate their feedback throughout the design process. This collaborative approach helps ensure that the final product meets their expectations and is a true reflection of their vision for their yacht.

How do you stay current with the latest design trends, and what are some of your favorite sources of inspiration?

Staying up-to-date with the latest design trends is crucial. To do so, I use a variety of resources and techniques to stay informed and inspired.

One of my favorite sources of inspiration is traveling. I enjoy exploring new cultures, architecture, and landscapes, and often find inspiration for my designs in the places I visit. I also attend yacht shows, design exhibitions, and other industry events to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and innovations.

In addition, I regularly read design publications, both online and in print. Magazines such as Boat International, Yacht Style, and Superyacht World provide valuable insights into the latest trends and developments in the industry. I also follow designers, architects, and other creatives on social media platforms like Instagram and Pinterest, where I can see their latest work and ideas.

I believe that one of the most important sources of inspiration is my clients. Each client has unique preferences and needs, and I enjoy working closely with them to create customized designs that reflect their personality and lifestyle.

By using a combination of travel, industry events, design publications, social media, and client collaboration, I am able to stay current with the latest design trends while maintaining my own unique design perspective.

How do you stay current with the latest design trends, and what are some of your favorite sources of inspiration?

As a designer, we use many resources to follow design trends around the world: Social media, design and architecture magazines, industrial fairs, sectoral magazine news, art and culture, and finally, nature that updates us in many forms and perspectives as we change.

Boat International, Robb Report, Tend Book, Architectural Digest V.B., popular Instagram and Pinterest accounts are sources that support my inspiration.

Can you share any unique features or innovations you've implemented on the Cruiser BLUE COSMO 52 that sets it apart from other yachts in its class?

The Cruiser BLUE COSMO 52 is an exceptional yacht that incorporates numerous innovative design elements and features, setting it apart from other yachts in its class.

Considering its dimensions, one of its most significant features is its interior layout possibilities. The Blue Cosmo 52 can provide cabin opportunities that many boats of the same scale cannot. We have created a unique concept that offers a guest cabin next to the master cabin and a personal bathroom in both cabins, along with a spacious kitchen area. Compared to many others in this segment, our yacht presents a higher luxury and comfort level below deck to make it suitable for staying the night away from its home marina.

Its unique bow design that incorporates wave piercing characteristics allowing for a smoother ride at sea. Not to obscure this unique shape, a special custom anchor handling system was also designed to keep the anchor internally stored during underway.

Some parts of the port and starboard sides in the stern section of the yacht are opened to expand the swimming platform and create a larger area in this section. This allows for a more enjoyable and ergonomic experience of the sea at the waterline, providing a wider space to savor the sea. Enjoying the sea in a more spacious area at the water's edge becomes both more fun and more comfortable

BLUE COSMO 52 is an innovative and exclusive yacht that combines state-of-the-art technology, luxury and sportive design features, and an emphasis on guest experience to provide an unforgettable cruising experience.

What aspects of your exterior design do you think particularly appeal to the discerning tastes of our high-profile clientele?

There are several aspects of exterior design that I believe appeal to discerning high-profile clientele. First and foremost, a yacht's exterior design should exude a sense of elegance and luxury. This can be achieved through the use of sleek lines, high-quality materials, and attention to detail.

Another important aspect is functionality. A yacht's exterior design should be both beautiful and practical, allowing for ease of use and maximum enjoyment for the owner and guests. This can be achieved through thoughtful placement of outdoor living spaces, such as sun decks and dining areas, as well as strategic use of lighting and other amenities.

Finally, customization is the key. High-profile clientele often has specific preferences and requirements when it comes to their yachts. As a designer, I strive to work closely with my clients to understand their unique needs and preferences, and create a design that not only meets but exceeds their expectations. This level of personalization is often what sets a truly exceptional yacht apart from the rest.

How do you see the future of yacht exterior design evolving, and what role will technology play in this transformation?

I believe that the future of yacht exterior design will continue to evolve in exciting ways, with technology playing an increasingly important role in this transformation. One trend that we are already seeing is a focus on sustainability and environmentally-friendly design. As clients become more aware of the impact their yachts have on the environment, there is a growing demand for designs that incorporate renewable energy sources, minimize waste, and reduce emissions.

Another trend that is likely to shape the future of yacht exterior design is the use of advanced materials and construction techniques. For example, we are already seeing the use of carbon fiber and other lightweight materials, which can significantly reduce a yacht's weight and improve its performance. Additionally, advances in 3D printing and other technologies could allow for even more intricate and customized designs, with greater precision and efficiency.

I think we will see an increased focus on the integration of technology into yacht design. This could include features such as advanced automation systems, augmented reality displays, and smart controls for lighting and other amenities. As technology continues to advance, I believe we will see more and more opportunities to create truly innovative and exciting yacht designs that push the boundaries of what is possible.

As a designer who has worked with Eternal Luxury, I can say with confidence that what sets them apart from other yacht manufacturers is their unwavering commitment to excellence in every aspect of yacht design and construction, including exterior design.

Additionally, places a strong emphasis on the use of high-quality materials and construction techniques. They understand that a yacht's exterior must not only look beautiful but also be durable and able to withstand the harsh marine environment.

I believe that Eternal Luxury's commitment to excellence, innovation, and customization make them a truly exceptional yacht manufacturer when it comes to design.

Are there any exciting projects or design collaborations in the pipeline that you can share with us?

Designers and yacht builders often keep their upcoming projects private until they're ready to be made public. This strategy can help build excitement and anticipation around the project and allow for final adjustments before the official release.

We are currently working on several exciting projects, including the design of a new series of models ranging from 27 to 65 meters. In addition to our 24-meter shadow project, we are also developing two 30- and 32-meter concept models for a special customer.

As a company that designs products, vehicles and yachts, we are constantly working towards exciting breakthroughs in these areas. We are also excited to announce that our company will be moving to Europe. Although it will be a difficult process, we are as enthusiastic and full of energy as the first day.
